Abstaining from food, drink, or other things to worship God and seek direction from Him. The time normally spent eating, sleeping or engaging in other activity is devoted to prayer and reading Scripture.

A Regular Fast – A regular fast means refraining from eating all food and drinking only water.

A Partial Fast - This type of fast refers to omitting a specific meal from your diet or refraining from certain types of foods. (e.g. The Daniel Fast: Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and juice. Eat fruits and vegetables.)

An Intermittent Fast – Skip one meal per day, such as breakfast.

A Social Media Fast – Turn off and disconnect from all social media.

A TV/ Movies/Video Game Fast – Abstain from all electronic entertainment.

A Sleep Fast – Get up earlier or go to bed later. Usually 30 minutes to one hour.
