Week of 3/20/2016

Found Find people! God not only saved us into a new life but he invites us to be part of His purpose of reaching a lost world. As we embrace Jesus Last words to His disciples and us, we have the opportunity to go into our world and share the hope that Jesus brings to a lost world. We must embrace our purpose by living attractive lives, building authentic relationship, share our story and invite people to a relationship with Jesus.

In this session we will discover our role in reaching the lost world by investing and inviting in those we come in contact with everyday. Found people, Find People!

1. Found People Find People.

John the Baptist introduced his disciples to Jesus. Andrew after meeting Jesus, went to his brother Peter and lead him to meet Jesus. Once you meet Jesus your heart will be to lead others to Him.

John 1:35-42
35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” 37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.
38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” 39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.
40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). 42 And he brought him to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter.

2. We exist to lead people step by step into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are a Great Commission people so we are a great commission church. God’s heart is to reach lost people, so as we walk with him our hearts will be to reach lost people.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28: 19-20

3. We reach through the weekend service.

Statistically, most people give there lives to Jesus and are saved during a weekend service. At The Fountains we leverage the opportunity of the weekend service by strategically by gearing them to reach lost people.   It is not that we don’t want owners to get something out of the service we just don’t want them to think about it first when they come into the door.

His intent was that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known...” - Ephesians 3:10
“I was glad when they said to me, let us go to the house of the Lord.” - Psalm 122:1
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” - Ephesians 4:11-12
For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? - Romans 10:13-14 (NKJV)

4. How Can we win people for Christ?

In order to reach the world, we have to accept the responsibility and embrace our role of going into our world and investing in authentic relationships, sharing our story and inviting people to receive Jesus as their savior. If you don’t feel qualified to lead them to Jesus invite them to The Fountains.

If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people unto me.  John 12:32 (KJV)
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9
