Several Families, along with Pastor Don and his wife Kathy, dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal: help people connect with God. With the help of a Launch Team, 45 people committed to seeing this vision become a reality. The Fountains Fellowship began weekly services on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009. That first Sunday, over 330 people met in the Cafetorium of the H.F. Stevens Middle School.
Since the beginning, The Fountains has focused on reaching out to the non-churched and church-hurt community, building relationships through special events and small groups meeting throughout the city. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday worship, and the relevant style of The Fountains Fellowship Church brought immediate growth. The attendance at the one year anniversary Easter service grew to 512 with 145 people committing their lives to Christ during that first year.
